Visa regulations depend on your nationality and country of origin. We suggest you contact your local Brazilian Consulate for official instructions on the specific visa regulations and application procedures that may apply to you. It is the responsibility of the participant to obtain a visa if required. A valid passport is required for entry into Brazil.
Official Letter of Invitation
Official letters of invitation designed to help overcome administrative difficulties in certain countries will be sent on request. It must be understood that such letters do not represent a commitment on the part of the Organizing Committee or Congress to provide any financial assistance. For an invitation letter, please send your request via the contact us page on this website.
Liability and Insurance
The Congress Secretariat and Organizers cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss of or damage to private property of participants. Participants are advised to take out their own personal travel and health insurance for their trip.
Registration & Accommodation
All participants must submit a completed registration form.
Hotel accommodation at special Congress rates will be offered to participants. Detailed information, as well as access to the registration and accommodation form, is available by clicking the Registration or Hotel Accommodation tabs on this website.
Banking and Exchange
The official currency is the Brazilian Rial.
ATMs can be found throughout the city. Banco do Brasil, Bradesco, Citibank and HSBC are the best banks to try when using a debit or credit card. Even though many ATMs advertise 24-hour service, these '24 hours' usually fall between 6am and 10pm. On Sundays and holidays, ATM access ends at 3pm. Money changing is speedier at casas de câmbio (exchange offices) than at banks. At the airport, international ATMs and money exchange are located on the 3rd floor of arrivals.
Safety and Security
Please do not leave bags or suitcases unattended at any time, whether inside or outside the session halls. Hotels strongly recommend that you use their safety deposit boxes for your valuables.
